Coral Banded shrimp/cleaner

Ok, so I purchased a cleanup crew and it came with a coral banded shrimp. I really want to put a cleaner shrimp in my tank though. If I do this will they fight or will they be ok? I know you can only have one cbs per tank but I'm not sure if you can mix species of shrimp.

I wouldn't put a cleaner shrimp in with a CBS. It pobably wouldn't last long unless it's a very big system with a ton of rock. You can put two CBS's in a tank if they're a mated pair.

I have a coral banded shrimp in the same tank as a cleaner and the coral banded certainly chases after it quite a bit. Once I have my new tank all setup the CBS is going in the sump/fuge while the cleaner is going in the main tank... they're little tank terrorists for sure.

I think most times the CBS will pick on the cleaner badly, but you may get them to leave each other alone on some occasions, I just don't think its worth the risk to the poor cleaner.

I have a large hob refugium, I think its somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 gallons. Would it be ok for me to put the cbs in there, that way I can get a cleaner? I think that might be a little small for him since it says that its a good addition for a tank more than 50g. What do you guys think?

I think that would be just fine. I've seen some people keep a CBS in a 3g pico. As long as there is live rock in there, and it can find food, it'll be just fine.

is there anything in particular I need to put in the fuge for him to eat? I have a few pieces of macro algea and rubble in there right now. I put 1000 pods in there yesterday. anything else he might like?

Probably not, detritus and floating food should end up down there on occasion, depending on your overflow setup. If you have traps or a filter sock or something like that you could feed a couple flakes once every 3 or 4 days, just to be sure it's getting enough.
