I was hoping someone could give me some advice on whether I should try an put a coral banded shrimp in my tank. I have a 45 gal tank, which will be about a year old this May. I have the following in my tank;
2 clown fish
1 peppermint shrimp
1 fire shrimp
1 rock bunny
1 but now 2 colt corals
1 starpollup
1 hammer coral
What I want to have in my tank over the next couple years;
1 cleaner shrimp
1 coral banded shrimp????
1 Pistol Shrimp Tiger
1 Shrimpgoby Yellow Watchman
1 Pink Tip Haitia Anemone
I really want to know if all this will work in the same 45 gal tank, b/c I heard coral banded shrimp are killers. I really just want the coral banded shrimp to rid my tank of brissle worms? Please any help to make a good choice? Thank you.

The CBS may become aggressive to the other shrimp. If he can catch them they will be killed. However, I've had 3 saron shrimp with my CBS and they knew to stay out of his way and no casualties occured.

Thanks for the great info, I think I will try one out. It seems from what others told me, is as long as they are well feed, then they shouldn't kill anything. Thanks for the help.

CBS are usually pretty territorial. They have a tendency to kill other shrimp.
I have one, but it hasnt bothered anyone else. I also have a bunch of peppermint shrimp that seem to co-exist fine, no casualties.
I'd say in a smaller tank (under 55) they should be watched, larger tanks, it should be fine. You just need to have a lot of rockwork for them to find homes in.

I have a pair of CBS in my tank now. They will chase my cleaner shrimp away if he gets close enough. These two make my 2nd and 3rd that I have had (sold the first with my other tank) and never had any of them kill another shrimp before but not saying they wouldnt either. When I set up my 125 that was the one thing I had to have was a pair of CBS.

My CBS shares his cave with my tang, hermit crabs, blenny, and whatever else happens to roam in there. He occasionally graces the tank with his presence when it is feeding time. he will stick his arm out to grab a flake and run back to his hole. Has molted sevearl times, at least I get a full body shot of his "skin" sometimes
