Right now I have 2 coral banded shrimp w/ 2 cleaner shrimp and a camel shrimp. They are in a 10g tank too. I'm treating my display tank so they got put in a separate tank and they're doing fine. The funny thing is that one of each shrimp has eggs. TJ
I too had my CBS eat my cleaner shrimp I, myself would never do this again. CBS tend to be very preditory as they mature. Mine used to chase small fish but could never catch them. I personally feel a cleaner shrimp out weighs a pretty CBS any day, as far as the job it does in a tank. HTH
I have a CBS with a peppermint shrimp, so far there really hasn't been any problems and I have had them together for about three months. I try and keep the shriomp well feed though, so that probably helps.
My CBS was fine for the first few months... until he got big. Then he attacked anything he could get his pinchers on... my niger, my angel, my goby... everything! He is no longer... took him back to my lfs for a nice selection of crabs.
