coral bandid shrimp

I have 1 brown hawaiian tang,two blue devil damasels,and a perucla clown fish. and i did have a coral bandid shrimp. i came home today and both of his claws were pulled off. never seen any of the fish try to bother him. ph/N etc. is fine. anyone have any idea what happened to him? i can't figure it out.

hmmmm thats odd the shrimp is the biggest predator in the tank ....maybe you have a mantis?

dont be surprised later if they start peckin
at your percs .has your coral molted yet?

yeah damsels can be pretty mean ... but a coral banded shrimp will reach for anything it can get its claws on

Yeah the CB will reach for just about anything.....How long have you had him and does he molt regularly?

but within a few days they grew back.. Has your CBS pinchers started growing back??

I didn't know that they were known to regrow their lost claws! That is really interesting. I guess that they use this as a self-defense mechanism. How long does it take?

In about a week or so he should have his claws back...I had one tear one off during a move and thats how long it tokk for it to grow back.
Alot of cover will allow him to hide if he is getting pecked at by those @#
$^*& damsels.
