Just my opinion...I like the Flame angels better...I have had both and the Flame seemed "tougher"...just don't put more than one in a tank...

I have a Coral Beauty, and he's a beautiful, healthy, active fish! I had a horrible experience with an online order (not swf) and this fish and the Yellow Tang were the only two things that lived. He eats everything that goes into the tank, plus he grazes. That is one thing--I think they do best in an established aquarium so they can graze on algae and such. But I really like mine. His sides seem to shimmer under my new lights, too!

Yep, I have one. They dont get more than 3 or 4 in. big and they like to cruse in and out of the rocks looking for food. they eat algea that grows on the rocks as well as bugs that live in them. They are called Pigmy or dwarf angels because they stay small. There are a few other pigmies that are shaped the same but much different colors, all very nice so you might want to see them befor geting the coral because you should not mix pigmies in small tanks.

Okay, you guys vote. I love the fish, and our local....usually damsel only fish store has one. I love it, my daughter hates it, says it's fat and ugly..............Ha?????? So...I do all the work in the tank, and I spend all the money on the tank. I'm tank obsessed, she's like.........ya, what ever. It is her tank, but her interest is going in other directions....(boys......geez
)
So, you guys vote......should I get it,
or should I not?
We have damsel city in the tank, two of which our going in the 10 gallen until a friend is ready to drop them in his to cycle....hee hee, he is even paying a little for them, his idea, not mine........I'd give them bastErds away..lol. Then we have a Hawaiin (sp?) Puffer and a lmblenny...among the damsels to keep are the blue and the two clowns. Color, we need color, it's like looking at a black and white television except for Mr. Nemo boy and the ever hiding, seen only on occassion puffer. K, vote, seriously.:yes:

Yes they are reef safe.
Get one if you like it. They are a good, colorfull fish. Easy to care for. Just remember not to add any other angel of this body type to the tank.

They arn't what you would say totally "reef safe". There are the few that will nip at corals, but for the most part they won't mess with them. I have had my Coral Beauty for a few years now and it hasn't bothered any of my corals. So it really depends on the fish.

haha your daughters intrests are going to boys? im 16 and when i got my tank my intrests have been moving away form girls and to my tank! now when i get home from school, the academy of the arts, and play rehersal, i spend time just watching my tank and getting info online and from these posts than talking to girls on AIM. Different strokes for different folks i guess.
I had a coral beuty but she had ick from the store and spread it to the rest of my fish. well, the tomato clown anyways. So she is no longer with us. She was so beutiful though. Super shiny and in perfect condition. I recomend them, i dont see how your daughter could think they were ugly. Suposedly they are shy for the first few months or so, but have a good personality

I vote to ground the daughter til she's 18, at least. :yes: And get the fish to, she's gonna need something else to look at.:D

A good fish, but angels and tangs are still things that, IMO, should go into mature tanks. So I would wait a bit longer on it.

I actually just got one to go in my tank today. I am pretty excited. It will be with a Lion and a clownfish. The Lion will only be in there for a little while. Once he can fit ANY of my fish in its mouth we are getting another tank.

Think I did that way back when she was about 3, thanks for reminding me. DO NOT WANT BOY TROUBLE. (Already got enough girl trouble with the 12 year old boy in the house.........geez, hormones.

I guess I was lucky. My 13 year old started right at 13. Just discovered girls and music. Don't have girls and I think I'm glad I don't. Little girls are so cute, but then they grow up to be teenage girls.:scared: Better you than me.
