Hello everyone...Have a few questions about my corals. I have a Hammer coral, Bubble coral and some mushrooms... I know some people feeds all diffrent types of food like PE mysis, reef nutrition oyster feast, Roti feast, phyto feast, Or rods coral blend, Dt live marine phytoplankton.. I am sure there are others...
What should I be using for my corals??? Also Should I be using some pieces of shrimp or scallop??? I normally give a small little piece every 1-2 weeks... I thought with good water changes I didnt have to use any of those coral blends or foods... But my buddy uses Diffrent ones and said I should be too.. Any help would be great on what I should use...

Do your corals look healthy? Are they growing? Personally the PE mysis is the largest I would try and feed any of those coral. In this hobby, you will get a different answer to the same question from each person you ask.
I have never heard of spot feeding any of that type of coral. Hammer, bubble and especially mushroom are more feed from the water colume type of corals.
Lots of "friends" will tell you do as I do. I am a big fan of it ain't broke don't fix it. If your tank is not polluted from over feeding, if the corals are happy...why stress over it? I heard that a product called "Wild Toe" was great.
Oh and FIY...water changes, and strong skimmers remove the extra food
from the system. Coral blends and foods are in the water column to feed the filter feeders, critters that live from what is in the water. So it is the opposite of what you said. Water changes are to remove nitrates and replanish trace elements like iron and iodine. Stuff you never dose unless you test first to see if they are low.

Yes the corals look healthy. As far as growing they are about the same size since I have had them... About 3 months... My hammer and bubble will take little pieces of food... They look like they grab it and move it towards the center like they are eating.. I dont do anything for the mushrooms.. Thats why I wanted to add some type of coral food since I dont ever add anything to the water.. And would love for them to GROW BIG.... I heard of wild toe. Will do some research on it...
Does any one use any of those products for similar corals like the one I have???

I give you my advice on my reef which is simular to yours. I have hammers, polys, xina and plate corals. Once a week I feed the entire tank with rod's coral blend (I turn off skimmer for the night) 1/4" cube I have 20gal tank. Once a week I spot feed plate corals and polys cyclop-eez and the rest I squirt hammers, about half the amount of rod's feeding. I hope this helps.

Ok. So you use rods coral blend for the tank.. And use about Half the dose and squirt some into the hammer? The rest just get it from the water column?

I squirt cyclop-eez into harmer's after I have feed plates and polys, this is a different food at different date. For the rods I just dump the entire mixture dissolved in tank water into the tank.

I have never used it. Rod's the original product used for a couple of years really saw a difference in coral when started using it. Since they came out with new coral blend it is much finer product without the big chunks in it. All corals are still happy.
