Coral Help

I got my first coral today and was wondering how to attach this thing to the rock. Ive tried super glue but I cant get it to stick to anything. Right now I just have a rubber band around it. Is a rubber band safe to use? And how long does it normally take the coral to attah to a rock without glue? couple weeks?? The poylps are doing good since they came out less than an hour after I got home.

No idea the type.
When nothing is coming out it looks like a purple ping pong paddle. When the polyps open they are bright green. Its some type of poylp I know that.

They kind of told me what it was called. I buy low light frags from the same tank. Normally they are already attached to a small rock when I buy them. Truth be told I dont know many of the corals in my tank. I know general characteristics but nothing specific.
