Coral ID, I don't know what this is...

I bought this the other day and I don't really know what it is and what I should be doing to take care of it.
I bought some liquid strontium & molybdenum and put that supplement in, since I use IO salt mix that has no additives or supplements. I have good flow and proper lighting, I just don't know what else I need to do to keep this little guy alive. Any info for me?

you don't need to do anything....it is a type of zoa.....I would not add the strontium/molybdenum....I am sure you are not testing for either...BELIEVE ME....I bought all those additives at first too...all you really need are regular water changes

Good to know. Thanks meow... could I put something in like coral frenzy or the like? I would like to get this to grow quickly as it is only a little bigger than a quarter.

Also, does anyone know exactly what type of zoa this is? what other names would this go by (scientific, and nick names).I am trying to do some research on this guy and I don't know what to call him. :) Thanks guys!
FURTHER MORE--- As far as corals go... I have seen SPS, LPS... etc... what would this be classified under?

I guess you could if you want....Just be careful not to put too much...or you can get algae blooms from excess nutrients
I don't use anything.
Sorry...I don't know the "real" name offhand....

Yeah radioactive zoa. Feeding not needed but u can feed the coral frenzy if u want just over feed don't over feed. I have the same zoa, I never feed it but still spreads pretty fast.

I'd question zoo's really getting any benefit from feeding like a LPS coral. These are just polyps or softies. They are not LPS or SPS (large polyp sized or small polyp sized coral).
Remember -- PATIENCE -- if you try to rush anything you usually pay for it in a negative way in this hobby.
Also -- what is IO salt?

yeah jackri, I agree. Patience is key, Although I am not so great with that. It wasn't just a speed thing but I just didn't want it t starve and I would like to help it along if I can. My tank is just bare and I don't like the way it looks!!! ugh!!!
oh well... I just need to wait...

Nice Zoas. just so you know, they spread by putting out a new polyp on a mat. They will need something for the new ones to attach to. stick your frag in your rock work, and they will spread to the rocks around it.

Thanks T. I will move it to the rocks. Question: After it spreads, can i take it off if the rock work if needed? I don't want all of my rock covered in it, but some patches would be nice.
