Coral Id please

What type of coral is this? im not talking about the mushroom, but the coral that the mushrooms are on. there are some parts that are still alive on the bottom. do they regenerate, can they be fragged?

Difficult to say for certain...possibly a type of favia or favite. Try a google search and see if you can find info/pics to help ID your coral.

not sure but you do have a Q-tip sponge in the bottom right corner of the pic

yea, i know about the Q-tip, the Pimple shrooms and all the other things. im usually real good with id's however, i just dont know much about sps and lps.

Definately a favia/favite. I have a large green one in my tank.

is the q- tip sponge ok? I have many of them along with other interesting white sponge like tubes in my 125.

Q-tips are ok, they are filter feeders.
Can the favites be fragged? cause only the bottom portion of the rock is still laive, the rest is taken over by mushrooms.
