Well I'm new to the coral part of saltwater keeping and I took advantage of the sale this site had. I got 2 assorted corals for $25. I have know idea of what they are though....

They are both in the above picture. As of now, they have moderate flow and bright light. If you can ID them, do they need any special care?

left: Green candycane trumpet corals. Large Polyp Stony. Night feeder
Right: Torch Coral, Family: euphillia. Has stinging tips called Nematocysts. Keep away from other corals. Filter feeder.
Both require some phytoplankton and the trumpets might like a small meaty feeding once a week such as Frozen Mysis.

By the way, i would love to be able to post links to information that ive found on other forums, informational websites that are linked to forums and everything, but by being a member of the forum, i dont want to violate any forum rules and loose my membership. I like it here.

I've never been convinced that either need nor can actually eat phytoplankton. I often see this as a requirement but I have strong doubts.

That can be tough. I just reword things, or say "I found this info:" and copy and paste it without saying where it's from.

But if you don't link the site, then it can be considering plagiarism even if he is not taking the credit. It's a catch 22.

I always say that I found it doing a search, or something similar. If someone wants to come after me for plagiarism, I'll just simply tell them to read the TOS. Frankly I think that it's ridiculous that we can't link to other forums, but I do see SWF's thinking about it. RC links should be allowed. There is so much good info there.

Would quoting the author be sufficient?
If it were up to me, yes it would be sufficient. To avoid plagiarism, technically no. The site would have to be cited as well. In the grand scheme of things, I would say just quote the author. If the author has an issue, they can just ask to have the post deleted. It's not like anyone is profiting off their posts here.
