Coral ID.

the guy told me it was worth bout 140$ at the LFS he gave me that for 20bucks, and a candycane coral with about 20heads and 20gallons of waterchange... umm 20bucks lol. hes a good buddy of mine. :p.. also can i keep him on the sand? or do they need good lighting i have PC 144watts 30gallon tank.

Acans should be fed for growth but don't have too...They need more then PC's though...T5's or Halides. Those look like one of the more common colors from what I can see in the pic... I generally see that color for around 80 for that size...It's a good deal though. If you have pc's keep it up high and order yourself some better lights.

acans will do just fine with pc light. its probably ideal as they dont favor the intense light of T5 or MH unless kept at the bottom or shaded. Feeding as stated is the key for good growth and thriving.
 
yea it looks really good under my lights opens up nicely and loooks full i feed coral food into my tank often an coral thrives i have it about half way up in my tank. plus i have 144watts for 30gallons in my tank so it should b fine.

Sorry you are correct Stan...I had a brainfart earlier. They will be ok under PC's, regular feeding for these guys is really beneficial to them, you can get about 1 new polyp every week or so with regular feedings. I read that again and thought I nuts for saying it....Don't answer at work while typing something else.

What is coral food? sorry just havn't heard of it yet?
