Got my new camera for Christmas, but my shooting skills need alot of work.
As you can see in the pics below my mom has a nice patch of something growing on a rock I gave her that was in my sump for about 6 months. Its just a plain rock (not porus like good liverock) but it has some barnacles on it she liked so I gave it to her out of my sump for decoration. My sump is not well lit, just the lighting for my turf scrubber, but those aren't even pointed at the water.
I ddin't notice these little guys until they were in her tank for about 3 weeks. its possible they came off of something else, but I think they were probably allways on this rock from when i got it with a big rock purchase I made from a local reefer about 9 months ago.
I've never seen anything like them. They have some nice yellowish colors with blue centers if I remember right. They kind of look like daisey polyps but inseat of having round edges they have skirts like a paly. they are packed in real tight like a zoa or pally, but they just look different than any zoa ive ever seen. may be palys since Ive never owned on of those and don't really know the difference.
It will be my luck they are a pest. Whatever they are they seem to be doing really well in her tank.
Any ideas?
I know the pics aren't the best, I appoligize, Way better than my blurry point and shoot pics though LOL

It's hard to say from the pic but I'm guessing hydroids? See if any google images look close there are alot of different kinds.

Dang, hard to tell, but you might be right. Well, at least its a crappy rock so if thats what it is I'll just dispose of the rock. I was going to use it for her barnacle blennies she wants to get.
Crud, I was hoping for a little softie of some sort.
