does it look more like slime or like a bunch of threads???
As for the fleas, if they're white they're pods, and they're good, don't worry about it. If they're red then you've got a whole new world of crap.

The coral looks more like a spider web type of stuff, not stringy. I just got the thing and it's floating all over the tank. It's like big clear chunks that are paper thin. Why does it do this before the polyps come out?
The things on the brain look to be a light brown to tan but are don't look red really. is that okay?? Will they turn brown or anything?? I starting to trip, what if they turn red?
Sorry for so many questions, but you guy's are so helpful!!!

well they won't "turn" red, they just are red. I've been hearing about these red bugs that are demolishing corals all over the hobby, but I can't find the thread that was talking about them. If they are just a light brown to white they are more than likely isopods and you shouldn't worry.
As far as the spiderwebs, they sound like shooters to me, but i don't know if leathers have those.

Shooters? I have an outbreak of Aptasia that I'm just now getting under control. Could it be trying to shoot the Aptasia trying to get it away from him?? I've hear that the Corals defend themselves is this a way of doing that?
Thanks for your help. It"s putting my mind at ease.
Kat.

Im not sure as to the exact reason leathers create that layer of "slime" but I do know that they shed it before they extend their polyps. The slime is, in turn, deadly to other corals so if you have a high flow system it generall will get sucked away but if not it can land on other corals and severly hurt/kill them.
