just a suggestion but before you set the whole tank up i would go to the ocean and make sure you hve the ability to catch the fish....you know what i mean its really hard catching fish especially saltwater..so i would just make sure you can catch them before you set this whole tank up
I've caught tons of fish and I know how to catch them. So getting the fish wont be a problem.

What other fish besides the catalinas's are you thinking?
Ummm.... 2 or 3 surfperches, tide pool sculpin, a few rock fish, maybe a wrasse, and a few more. I still haven't fully thought about the fish stock list yet.

Umm..... What do you mean? Set up fully? When everything is built? stand, tank, skimmer, canopy, ect? or when its filled with fish, corals, inverts, anemones, ect?

Hey, I don't have anything yet. I'm waiting on the new prices of the Acrylic. I'll let everyone know the price and stuff when I find out.

How in the heck did I miss this thread!!!!
Heck yeah Im down for the build. I should finish the bike in another week or two at this rate. Then I can clear a space and we can build everything you want.
I do have a set of plans you sent and I am confident we can overcome any issues that we might run into.
I was thinking about this when we last had our brainstorm, why dont we steal,..er... um "borrow" Bronco's plans and just make a mini version. The plywood would give great insulation value and its dirt cheap compared to such thick acrylic.
Just bought a new tablesaw so lemme know......lets do this.
Dont let me push any ideas on ya. This is YOUR build but what do ya think about a plywood build?

Hmmm..... Thats a VERY good idea!! Do you think we should keep the same shape(cube)or make it into a rectangle? I'm thinking of a rectangular plywood build because you'll be able to see much more than just a single 2ftx2ft front. I can just buy the large front and then we can get several small scraps and 'weld' them together for the top?

Why weld them together? You could set them like skylights OR just build the top to match the scrap you find. You happen to look on the bay for scraps yet?

Yeah, we can just put them to me like skylights or just build the top to match the scrap you find. I'm not sure what your talking about. On the last question "You happen to look on the bay for scraps yet?".
