coral life skimmers are they any good

has anybody tried out the coral life skimmers and are they any good tanks for the info

i have one it seems to work pretty good. even has a drain line which is nice.
have to clean the intake on the pump occassionally or more than i like but does pretty good none the less. when the intake gets crud in it you get an
overflow issue in the collection cup. the cup wont overflow with the drain line
in a bucket but the waterline in the tank will drop. my hands get wet a few
times a day so mine is monitored pretty constant. if you are the same should be no problem if not could be as much as dropping the water level as low as you mount the pump. it would take awhile to drop so as i said if monitored
regularly you should be ok. just for reference i do have a job so being gone for 8 to 10 hrs a day has not been an issue.

If you stay in the hobby for a bit you will probably upgrade the Coralife skimmer if you get one. If you can tell us the size of your tank and your some indication of your budget and more advice can be given.

well it will be for a 100 gallon fowlr tank and a 40 reef gallon .know one more question in my 100 i want live rock do i need live sand and what is the driffrence between live and regular sand . thanks every one
