Coral QT tank

I have a QT with a crappy light simply because I was using it for fish. I have found that I may need to use it for some zoanthids, so what's the minimum light that these guys can survive with? Do they make any bulbs strong enough to support a 20 gallon in those cheezy AG hoods?

Why do you need to QT the zoos?

I have a few species that aren't doing well, all parameters are flawless. After doing some research I have found that coral warfare is most likely the culprit here. I put some carbon in and one of the three responded quickly. The other two according to Bob Fenner need to be taken out of the tank.

FWIW I always QT my corals... I like to observe them for a bit look for any zoa spiders or any other nastys that might infect my DT prior to adding them. Just my own precaution prob not always necessary but having a DT get wiped out by ich tends to leave a mark on you for a while. lol.

Yep.. not me personally but I have read some on here have. They are small and almost unnoticable, until you start to see your zoa's disappearing. If you look very closely you can see them.

What kind of lighting do you keep for your QT?

I have experienced the spiders and snails that eat zoas.It is not very fun expecially picking them out daily with tweezers

Do you raise them up at all in the tank?
