1.
Whats the pros/cons to a carpet anemone? Saw a blue one at a LFS like SteveWeast's and very intereested in getting one. Can anyone give me some input on them, especially personal experience?
2.
Dumb Question: Can a Torch corals tenticles be trimmed?
3.
How close can you put a carpet anemone to a torch coral?
4.
What does it mean when a finger of a devils hand leather gets shriveled and brownish? Something bothered it, chemical warfare? Too much light?

I can only comment on #1 - Carpet anemone
If you have a reef tank - do not get it. I had one and loved it, but they are just not good for reef. They are awesome to watch, especially if you have a pair of Clarkii clowns. But they eat everything. They get too big.
I recently had to take mine back to LFS. He was bigger than a dinner plate and hard as heck to get out of the tank. Plus if they sting you - they leave blisters and scars! I didn't get stung, but the gal at the LFS did when she was bagging him for the next owner. Her arm looks nasty!
HTH! Good luck!

I do not believe it is good to trim the tenticles. Also I would keep it away from other corals as they will compete for space and fight.
How long has the leather been shrivled? What is your lighting?

Fully extended the Torch's tentacles are about 10", but they keep getting hung up on rocks and crevices.
As for the leather, its just 1 of 10 fingers that shriveled. And it been like that for about a day. I just added 3 MHs to my tank. I'm in the process of acclimating corals...going on 5 hours of MH a day and increasing by an hour a week. I think if it was the lighting addition, more than one finger would be affected, correct?
