I just bought a cheap coral today to see if I could keep one alive. The LFS said that it is a ricordia mushroom polyp and since I know they are fairly easy to maintain I went ahead and grabbed a single polyp.
My question is this: do all mushrooms have a bulbous part? Aside from the actual "shroom" part there is this bulb thing attatched to it that looks almost like a sea cucumber. Should it be there?
Also, if it isn't too much to ask, a this coral will migrate where it wants to be if it isn't happy, right? It came attatched to a small piece of LR but I don't want it there forever.
It's opened up and all already so I kinda assume it's happy. We'll see...
