Hey Guys, I was just wondering, I just bought some coral and and I wanted to know if it is safe to remove it from the rock that it came attached to?

You dont need to bump after 15 minutes.
What kinda coral? That makes all the difference. Some come off the rock easier than others. But if you can get it off with out mangeling it sure. Another method is to scrape the coral off with some rock. then glue that rock to the new spot.

You can easily take a razor blade and cut horizontally across the base, and attaching it to another rock by means of superglue.
You can also only cut half of it, and it will grow into two leathers over time. Just make sure that you dip it in reef dip for at least 15 minutes to 30 minutes so it will put on a stress coat.

Yes you can cut it. I suggest you wear gloves. Leathers stink and you will smell it for a day or so on ur hands. You are never going to superglue a leather. They slime and it just wont stick. I like to stick it into a hole and put a rock on it. OR i like to take 2 rocks and press them together to hold the leather. They will take a week to a month to attach. If you leave a stump it will grow into a new leather. But it will take a few months from a stump.
Cutting easy, attaching takes a while. If you can break off some rock at the leathers foot you can glue it to the new rock. Thats the best way.
