Chem tests are perfect - except mg is 1400. MH, 8-month old tank, SG - 1.023.
Thanks

For inverts, your SG should be 1.025 - 1.027. It appears to be too low. I am not the most knowledgeable on corals, someone else should be able to elaborate.

Thats one reason, but flower pots have a very poor mortality rate in the home aquarium, 6 months or less. Seems like aparetly there is something major missing in synthetic water, at least that is the theory.

Just a question for you, I have heard the same thing about synthetic water. Would bringing in sea water for water changes help or is that just crazy? I was just wondering because I love flower pots but don't want to get something to kill it.

CAN you get your sea water consistently from a reliable clean source? THEN ABSOLUTELY! Though I dont have any concrete evidence of this theory, it is one floating around, SMART flower pots are for the expert hobbyest, They almost always die within 6 moths and the fact that they DYE them colors doesnt help at all as well. These belong on the "leave in the ocean" list.
