Has anyone had any experences with eithor Coral-Vite, which is suppost to supply all the nessasary vitamans for corals and inverts, and Essential Elements, which provides the essential trace menerals.
I have mushrooms and a BTA. Do I need the Coral-Vite, or Essential elements?
Thanx

If you are talking about Kent Marine's product, so yes, i use them in my reef. I use both. As they say, for FO tank you need only Essential elements, for Reef tank you will need both. Once i had a conversation with KM's tech support guy. He uses only Coral-Vite in his reef. After my Coral Vite bottle will finish, i will continue using only trace elements.

as long as you do regular water changes you dont need to use those additives. the salt mix should have enough of all the trace elements except calcium. you wont need any more calcium with your current livestock.

are you saying i do not need calcium eathhor?
also, if i do use them, and it does not all get used up, will that hurt my tank?

the shrooms and anemone dont need any more calcium than what is in your salt mix. the only reason for you to add calcium is if you want your coraline algea to grow faster. dont dose calcium unless you have test kits for ph,alk and calcium. if you do overdose on calcium you can create all sorts of problems with your ph and alkalinity. it might even snow in your tank if you add too much too fast. do some searches on the relationship between calcium, alkalinity and ph and you'll see what i mean.
