In my opinion i would wait and go with MH's for that size tank, well worth it, i have 542 watts on my 75, i would go with a lot more for futre corals?? , do a search to see what others have for a 125.

SmBuddy First nice to see a somewhat local guy in the forum. Where in missouri are you located? Also I have talked with ppl who have used 230 watts on a 80 gallon and there sps have done fine. You just have to place them up on top of your live rock to work. I am currently going to go with your setup you have for lights and they should work fine here is a link to the forum were it took place.

Very strong lighting is important, use one 175w metal halide light for each two foot of tank space. Or use about four watts per gallon of power compact lighting, this is the equivalent of about eight watts per gallon of VHO lighting.
This is what I found on a website. Hope it helps.
