Hi Everybody I am trying to decide on a new skimmer for my 65gallon tank.
I don't have a sump yet so I am looking for a hang on. I am looking at the coralife 125 and the new fission 110 power skimmer or an Octopus. I can get them all for almost the same price. I have read some other post about them but still have mixed views. Any input would help thanks.

out of the two, go with coralife.
I used coralife skimmers and they work great. The skimmer will take a couple of days to break in but after that they skim damn good.
Some say they are rated higher then really are good for and that could be very well true.
I used the 125 and 65. I'm even thinking of pulling my old 65 out and modding it to see what i can get it to do.
My buddy bought the fisson and the pump seems to not draw enough air or something.
The octo i have no personal experiance with, but i hear some great things about them, even before the mod

of the 2 the corallife is better but...
imo the SS is weak.. it "was" one of the better one's for the price range but no longer.. you can get the octo 200 for under under $220 or somthing like that shiped to your door... so far.. octo skimmers are the best bang for the buck... they are not the best to say.. but they are up there with the big boys.. at 1/2 the price...
