coralife skimmer in a sump?

In sump is fine. I prefer mine in my sump so if the skimmer overflows for some reason, it will overflow in the sump, not on my carpet. I would run it in 8-10" of water.

Brandan, said it for me . Mine is in sump incase of overflow in 10 inches of water.

You could do that. I had a 20 gal with a 10gal sump like that, but it sucked cleaning it up. The only time it overflowed was when I fed Cyclopeeze, I learned to turn off the skimmer from then on when I fed my corals.

its best to set it IN the sump because sooner or later it WILL (not might) overflow and you dont want that on your floor. also it would be good if you can get it in a section of the sump where the water level maintains 1 height so that you dont have to keep adjusting the knob on the skimmer
