Well, for the life of me I cannot get this skimmer to stop releasing thousands of microbubbles into my tank. They are everywhere. The bottom of the bubble diffuser box has a vent where the bubbles are pouring out. I have split the bottom pad in half, I have replaced the pad on the bottom of the box. I have made sure the tube is approx 2 inches from the bottom of the box. I am ready to trash this thing.

not sure about yours, but when i have that problem i turn down the air and turn down the speed of the water coming out. good luck not sure that will help you.

I had the same problem with mine, I replaced the white sponge in the bottom with piece of micron pad (100 Micron), then instead of trying to clean that pad, I just cut a new one from the micron material. So far it has worked for me.

Might want to look into setting up a small sump for the system if for no other reason than to house the skimmer. Any skimmer you buy is going to work more efficiently set up in this manner any way. There are many other benefits to having a sump other than just a place for the skimmer.
Whole project can be done under 100 dollars.

What i did was got a filter floss pad and stuck it in the diffuser above the white one in there already... cut the bubbles down A LOT!!

I really like the sump idea. This is something I would like to do but will have to wait until after tax season. So for the short term I will try to find this micron pad and use that.
regarding the sump. My tank isn't drilled for fittings and would have to use a hangon overflow box. This siphon worries me that if the siphon breaks all of the sump water will pump into the tank and ............
