any good needle wheel pump 500-600gph should work okay. Q#2 yes
For the money nothings better despite its issues (which is prevented by keeping the air intake from getting salt clogged) . you have to go up about $50 to get better of comparable size which doesn't sound like much but considering I payed $107 for my 125 thats a pretty big percentage difference. I went with it not because of its cost but it was the best skimmer that fit IN my sump space. I could have got a turboflotor multi, several recircs or downdrafts which are better but they would have to take up space outside the sump. All the sump ASM, Octopus, Euroreefs ect didn't fit my limited space. Cant complain 100 gallons, seven fish including four anthias that require mutiple daily feedings and two hungry tangs no other filtration except cheato and liverock yet zero nitrates and phospates and only monthly water changes. there are better but once your numbers are as good as they can get with what you keep whats the point of having better

I have both the "125" and the "65" running the sumps of my 125 and my 55. Love them both. I used to have an overflow problem with the "65" but I made a minor alteration to it ($1.25 and 5 minutes of work) to prevent it from ever happening again. I drilled the outside of cup and ran a tube down to a gallon jug. I did the alteration 2 monthsago and have only had to empty the jug once, best part is I don't even have to turn it off to empty it.
