coralife super skimmer ?

Ok I just hook up my super skimmer about 20hrs ago. is it common for the bubble trap to overflow and allowing micro bubble to escape in my tank .
Will the micro bubble stop over flow in my tank. I have the pump 3inch down from the water line and my bubble trap is 1/4inch above the water line as instructed in the manual. or am I doing something wrong here for it to over flow . Any info will be a great help.

I have the same skimmer. It takes a least 72 hours for the pump to break in. What I did was turned the water level all the way down for the 72 hour time period. After that it was fine. As for the bubble trap, I would just get rid of it. It just taks up room, as long as the drain tube is right at or a little above the water line, this is to allow no back pressur, you will be fine.
