Ok I ran my super skimmer for 3 days now for the break in . I install it as manul instruct. This skimmer works great but it puts millions of micro bubble back in to your tank. And the bubble trap is crap . its over flow all the times.
if yu looking for a HOB skimmer I advice you to stay away from this skimmer .
if any body have info on this super skimmer micro bubble issue ,please post it .
Thanks

more filter floss and drill some holes in the bubble trap so that more water exits the bottom and bubbles go up.

Get a small hang on filter that is rated to handle the GPH outflow of your coralife skimmer. Now take PVC or tubing and direct the outflow of the skimmer into the reservoir of the hang on filter. Do not actually plug in the hang on filter.
This should function as a bubble trap with the added benefit of filtering the water coming out of your skimmer before going back into the tank. If you do this let me know how it works. I have had this idea for awhle but am yet to put it into practice since I have a sump.

I had some problems with micro bubbles until I got my sump running. I think with any HOB skimmer you are most likely going to fight micro bubble problems to some extent.

I was thinking about drilling some more holes underneath the foam and then filling the rest of the chamber with activated carbon to dissipate the bubbles. I do know how you feel about the bubbles as I also have the coralife 65. It does a good job but takes forever to get "dialed in".

Ok early in my post . I was unhappy with this skimmer , due to micro bubble. well i have change my mind .I finally got it working with no micro bubble back in to the tank. yes it a pain in a butt to dial in , after i got it to work , its a great skimmer .

i replaced the sponges at the bottom of the CSS65 diffuser with random ones from the LFS until i managed to get no bubbles... what i found that works is using one of the 2 color/ply sponges folded at the bottom to cover the grates and then the original course black one with the hole ontop works well.

have any of you experienced problems wth the pumps? i installed 2 on the same tank for a customer around here, and both pumps went out within 2 weeks..and we had probably 10 returns in a month on those skimmers for the needle wheels breaking and what not..i thought they were junk for what you pay. hopefully things have changed! just my thoughts.

Regarding pumps, I just upgraded my CSS220 pump to an Ocean Runner 2700. Only test has been in fresh water, but it seemed to work fine (can't get good bubbles in fresh water, but there were plenty of big bubbles). You are right, the stock pumps are very inefficient and unreliable, in my opinion.
