Will coraline algae remove nitrates from the water like other algaes do?

Nah, Nitrates actually stun coraline growth, so if there's no growth or very little growth, there's no good harvest and if there's no good harvest then there's no nitrate removal..
plus coraline is a slow-growing encrusting algea that thrives under good cal/alk, and 0-Low ppm nitrates and phosphate levels..

Thanks for the reply. If snails eat algae that have nitrates and then the snails poop will the nitrates go back into the water?

Actually studies show a certain parentage of nitrates simulate polyp extension
