Coraline Algae Bloom

Just woundering WOW i Know coraline algae very well this tank has been up for 3 months now 24 bio cube, but wow is it growing! anyone else have this happen?

I wish. Are you adding anything? Purpleup?
Skimmer? I heard they remove coraline spores.

I wish It would grow more in my 55

Are you really sure it is coraline algae?
If so then remember coraline likes plastic, acrylic tanks will get it long before glass. How about a picture…

Im 95% sure, i will post a picture tonight when i get home , and yes im using a skimmer, no additives.

I dont mind it on the back of my tank but dont like it on the sides and front of my acrylic biocube, any ideas on how to get it off without scratching my tank?

oh. i shuould add... he started with 20lbs of well established LR. and he dosed with calcium additives(agaisnt my recommendation).
but in the end, hes got amazing coraline coverage. maybe ill shoot a picture and show you.

Plastic scraper should be fine.

newer tanks tend to get coraline algae easier. once u add corals, coraline algae should start to taper off.

Will coraline algae grow in a new tank on its own? Or does it need to be introduced?
