my tank has been set-up just shy of three months now. on my heater and the syphon box for my skimmer and power-heads i`m getting these small (pencil led size) pinkish spots.
i`m hoping these are ste start of coraline algea.
is that how it looks and where it usually starts ???
thanks,
steve

Just make sure your calcium and alkalinity are in check and you should be good to go.

The Salifert test kits are very accurate and a favorite with lots of people. I have them and they are easy to use. IMO they are the best.

I agree with everything said... from the salifert test kit to the diagnosis... Sounds like you have corraline forming. :joy:

I have my new tank setup for a month so far, coraline is growing where I don't want them to grow. I have to get in there and scrape them off, they're growing everywhere over the front and the side glass. The rocks are getting covered by them as well. Kinda fast I thought..... :happyfish

There will be stuffs that eat'em, but they should grow just as fast to cover them back up. You need to check on your Calcium and Alkaline levels!!!! :happyfish
