Coraline Growth

:notsure: :notsure: What exactly is coraline growth---I keep reading about it and am not sure what people mean.

It is a type of algae that grows over rock/glass/hard surfaces (even snails/hermit shells!) and makes your reef look very beautiful. There are a few different colors of coralline growth.. to make a long story short though.. it is a GOOD type of algae that brings a lot of COLOR to your fish tank =c)

Its the purple stuff on your rocks. Spreads to glass & anything else in your tank.

I find chromis also add a lot of color and make a reef look very beautiful. And yourself?

is there anything you can add to the water to quicken the growth of coraline?

mine seemed to START when i added aragamilk... however, it took off after switching to reef builder.

The key is keeping your calcium, alk and PH in sync with each other. Do a search for dosing Kalk to help maintain these levels. From what I have read, dosing additives sometimes helps but is by no means necessary, and often a wasteful expense.
