Coraline on the glass

I am not sure which forum is best for this question so I am starting here.....
I have new lights on my tank (4x65 pc) and went away for a week. When I returned, I had some coraline grow on the front glass. How can I encourage it to grow on the BACK glass? It is growing very nice since adding the lights (on rocks and filter).

if you have a rock that is covered in coraline the add a ph or something blowing across it to spread the spores into the water werever they land it will start to grow just keep your calcium up.
but you can just leave it alone to it will eventualy spread to it.

Yea,I just spent the past hour scraping it off the front glass on my tank.I have been lazy lately and not keeping the glass clean.I too notice that it seems to flourish where the powerheads flow against the glass.

hmmmm. I have both of my power heads(270 gph each in a 55) and gled from back corner to middle front and my coralline is growing well on back glass. I guess maybe current could be bouncing off front and then to the back but I have never had any corraline on the sides or front of my glass just on the back. I have the same 4x65 watt pc fixture and when I got it that is when my corraline really took off. I do add calcium and reef builder alternate them in my topoff water.

scraping it off the front glass also does help with spreading it to the back glass (and everywhere else)...those spores you scraped off didn't disappear after all, but go off to populate more areas :D
and i too seem to have a lot of coraline where my flow is strongest (i have a pink 2" circle on the glass right where my plumbing returns into my sump)...i also get different colors depending on the strength of the light...with time and healthy Ca/Alk balance though it'll be everywhere

hmmmm, well my powerheads are in the back and point out and up. I was hoping someone would say that I could cut that scrapping off and somehow attach it to the back glass so it could take off from there. Sounds like it is just luck?
