i had almost none in my tank for 1.5 years until i addressed some problems with water quality and lighting. what are your parameters like? PCs are weak, but coralline will grow under them, just slower.

phosphates?
i had nitrate problems for a long time, when i was able to make some changes when i moved the tank, the trates and phosphate dropped dramatically and the coralline exploded. what is your calcium and alkalinity at? these are huge factors for coralline as well.

more importantly calcium, alkalinity and pH
Keep calcium around 400ppm and dKH 8 or better (not sure what that converts to in alk but even thats on the low but acceptable scale) and if there is any coralline in the tank it will spread. pc lighting shouldn't be the problem.
