It was working fine for a long time and now it does not produce any bubbles and when i shut it off it is dumping unusually large amount of water back into my sump to the point that i have to turn it back on just to take the water back into it so. Thanks.

Check to see if your air intake line has filled with salt. Im talking about where the clear tube attaches to the skimmer itself. I have to take a pin and scrape it out every couple months.
