The red is a gorgonian!!!!
Kidding. Ive always heard it comes only in different shades of purple. It is also an encrusting algae so it shouldnt have hairs..

Yep, nice link there Henry.........

As to the issue of hairs coming out of spots of what you think may or may not be Coralline. Blast it hard with a baster, if it stays put it is Coralline if it comes off it is Cyano..
Here is a shot with a second close up, in my 72 from many moons ago (in 07) showing on a branch of Tonga showing several colors. My favorite the Blue, there is also Greens, deep Red and more...... Problem I have had is eventually the Purples over grow all the others.

sweet.. then the maroon i have isnt what you have it comes off.. real easy ... so is it bad.. and should i just let it go or what..

Yep if you can blow it off it is most likely Cyano. In our home tanks the most common color we see is maroon or dark red.......Do a search here on the Forum for Cyano or Cyanobacteria , lots of info.
In Reef tanks good strong water flow, good prams and sometimes a reduction in ligh levels for several days will help starve it out. Along with hair algae these are the two of the most common early tank set up issues that we incur.
Here is a link with some general info on it..............
