Coralline Question

My live rock has little maroon bits which have little "hairs" sticking off of them. Is this coralline reproducing maybe or something else. I tried to get a pic but they don't really show up. It looks like it is spreading alot already and I'm hoping that is what it is. I saw on another thread about coralline spores and was thinking maybe that's what I'm seeing.Any ideas?

i have the same growth on my live rock purple nobs with little hairs i also have extensive corilline growth on my tank i was wondering if these were some kind of coral growth maybe someone else can help us

I remember reading a thread in the last few weeks. It may be what you have in your tank. It was descibed as a filter feeding organism. I can't remember what it was called. Maybe someone who responded to that post can come up with a name. If you are talking about what I am thinking of, it is a dark red to maroon crown shaped thing ,up to a quarter inch across, and sticks up alittle, with very fine hairs sticking up on the end. I know this doesn't help much, but might remind someone else who can remember.

i have some long maroon strands growing from my rock that is a type of algea, forgot the name, that looks nice and from pictures i have seen will just continue to improve in appeareance.
