Corals "flaking"

I have a couple of corals that are "flaking" and it looks like tiny pieces of cotton threads on it. Is there any hope for them or should I consider them dead and get them out of the tank?

I've never really heard of this behavior, but I'm venturing a guess...try to siphon the flakey stuff off and see if anything happens? :notsure:

what type of coral? if they are leathers... they might be sheading... Normal. if it is SPS then they are RTN'ing.... not good at all.
