Corals?

I was thinking about getting a few corals specifically:
blue coral
green open brain coral
frogspawn coral
just to start with and see how difficult the coral would be to care for before moving on the some of the more expensive corals. At the fish store I normally shop I can get small pieces of those for between $50 and $80 each.
I already know about the lighting required but I was wondering do I need to add calcium, idoine, trace elements, iron... all that stuff or are those things that should be in my tank naturally?
And is waterflow important? How do I see if I have the right water flow to add corals? and is placement in the tank an issue?
I have never done corals before, this is my first tank and I have only had it about a month.
Any help or info would be much apperciated,
Jessica

To be honest I would concentrate on fish only for a while yet.
There is so much to do just mastering the water parameters that it can quickly become disheartening when you spend money and things go wrong.
It was a year before I bought my first bit of live Rock (everything costs more in England).

its glad to see that you are taking an interest in reef.
I would slow down....get the tank maintenance to a set schedule. make sure you can maintain your water parameters and fish health for at least 6 months before adding any corals.....
each individual coral has its own light and flow requirements....
Research research research!!!
Good luck. BtW frogspawns rock
