Can you mix soft and hard corals? If so how and if not why not? I have a 55 gallon tank. Thanks

yup,you can as long as the water is right and the lighting, and filtration.... do you have live rock ??? what do you all have in there now??? I would get about 55 lbs of live sand... 75-100 lbs of live rock... (cured of corse) let it all set up check all levals ph/amm/nit.. ect... good lighting sys to reach the bottom(halide or vho) skimmer / wet dry filter...add a few turbo snails to keep alga in check, hermits, a brittle star and good luck......
