How do you know if your corcea clam is not alive anymore ?
symtoms are you can see the purple bluish color but the shell is almost completely closed and its not making that movement hat it usually does...there was a snail on it could it have harmed the clam ? My other Derasa is expanded and everytime I waive my hand pass it it moves in and out..the corcea is not moving at all perhaps it can recoop from this ?

I know why or how do they die ?all the params and lighting is perfect so it doen't make sense perhaps when i move them it hurts them ? this looks simillar to the last one I lost the CC should have a nice expensive meal shortly if things follow suit from the last one I lost..the Derasa tripled size in 3 months...so it's not that sad. but maybe Corcea clams are a bit harder to keep. ? I originally got them since I read they absorb or eat Nitrates...when I coouldn't get my Nitrates from 5-10 to 0 but ever since I got them the Nitrates have been 0.

They're one of the most difficult to keep. They require perfect water conditions and lots of light. You might want to get a Derasa instead. It is a lot easier to keep.

I belive I harmed them from moving them often, or my sally lightfoots apparently aren't reef safe at 4 inches in diameter.
