corilne and water flow

will coriline algee grow better with strong water movement how mucch water movement is sufficent in a 65 gallon tank it has a return from sump one power head a hang on filter(bio wheel) the water moves on every area of the water surface

IMO more flow is better. coraline has a fondness for high flow. I did an expiriment a while ago with different color back grounds and flow rates. since you ask about flow.... I put one piece of glass in front of a power head (four inches) and another off to the side of it with out a power head. both had the same lighting. the coraline growth on the piece with the powerhead was about 3 times as fast as the one with out. So I say the more the better (welll... within reason you dont want a hurricane current in your tank battering your fish and corals to death)

thanks im going to try one of the rotatiinng powerheads called power sweep i have one in a nano and since i put it in my corals are huge they doubled in size that tank has pink coriline someone else talked about kalkwasher for evaporation water im going to try that also
