k everyone, i have had my tank for almost 2 weeks now and everything is cool. I have 2 damsels and a hippo tang. My water temperature is usually around 82 degrees - 84 degrees. Is this to warm for coral? And if it is how do i cool my water? Fans?
Also, if water temperature is ok what does everyone recommend for first corals?

I try to keep my tank at 78-80 degrees although that can be difficult during the summer. If you want to go the expensive route, chillers are your best option. I compensate with maintaining a constant temp. on my thermostat (it seems to help even though I get cold sometimes!).
I would recommend mushrooms to start out with, they're very hardy. Some other safe bets would be a leather coral, green star polyps or button polyps. This website offers a lot of good information on corals/inverts.
Good Luck!
