I have had my tank set up for more than a year but i can't seem to get alot of coroline growth i recently tested my water and i had 480ppm for calcium. How do i lower the calcium level and what else can i do to get more coroline growth. I have a little red coroline in my sump and I have green coroline all around my tank.
Thanx Chris

Your ca is not to high IMO most people shoot for 400 - 450. Improve your circulation if it's low that will help it spread.

I have 2 tanks
75 reef
30 FOWLR
I spend much more time and effort on the water parameters of the reef tank.
Keeping the calcium around 400 and alkalinity around 10 dKH and the pH up around 8.2 - 8.3 or so - allows the coralline in this 75 to grow very well.
The 30 - I do water changes and adjust the water parameters less often. The coralline grows - but not near as well as the reef tank.
Calcium
Alkalinity
pH
Water circulation
Having some live rock or rubble that has decent coralline to begin with
Lighting - still debating this in my mind - must be adaquate.
What's your alk and pH ?
