Correct for Lighting for a 125tank

Alright i think im gonna start my tank off as a reef. I was wondering what lighting i would need. Such as reccomendations on Metal Halides and Florecent Compacts. The tank dimensions are 72"x18"x22"

Go with metal halide. get a 6 foot fixture with either VHO or halide...
Unless you are getting a canopy, then get one and retrofit a couple 36 inch MH's in it.. thats what i would do

It depends on what you plan on keeping. If you plan on starting out with easy corals like mushrooms, leathers, bubbles and star coral types then you could go with 2 6ft VHO bulbs and then if you ever decide to go with hard corals or higher light corals then you could get the MH and use your VHO's for actinics. No use in spending 600.00 minimum for decent MH if you don't have to.
