I have 4 65 watts, not 8. Also....I just checked my my anenome, and he has moved himself underneath one of my rocks upside down. So yeah...not too much lighting under there!! Will he move again or should I move him??? :notsure:

Your anemone will move by himself to a spot that he likes in the tank. Unfortunately though, 4x65 watts of power compact really isnt enough light for an anemone.

what type of anenome? if you have the corallife light setup that i think you do (the same as me) then your lights will be ok for some anenomes, not all though.

I have a pink tip. I told the lfs that I would be getting some coral and anenomes and the lighting I got is what was recommended.

From the information I have been learning about on this site and others is that Anenome's really do require the stronger lights in order to thrive. I am reffering to MH lights. With less lighting the anenome can be in the tank for a while but it will slowly dissolve into nothing and then die. This has been a major reason that has kept me from getting one. I think my lights are similar to yours. Please dont take this the wrong way but it could be something to consider. Ultimately your LFS is there to make money. Yes, I am sure they love the hobby as well but they are also there to make money. It is possible they sold you the Lights and the Anenome because that is what they had on hand and that is what they could sell you. I am not saying this is the case but it is a possibility. I myself can be an impulse buyer so what I ended up doing is making myself a list of everything that members from this forum have believed would work well under the lighting I have. Then when I go to the store if there is something there I cant resist and it is on my list then it is ok. If it is not on my list then it stays in the store. Hopefully your anenome will be will thrive in his new home.

Yeah me too. I think it would be silly to spend $350 plus tax on lighting that uuuuhhh....apparently isn't going to work!!! This is the only lfs I go to and I'm in there once a week checking things out so I don't know why when I asked them if I could put anemone in my tank with this lighting they would lie. Also, I bought the anenome from this site not the local lfs. Guess we'll see what happens.......

I don't know about your LFS but mine will. They will say anything to get your $$$. They will tell you their fish are healthy when you can clearly see white spots on their fins.

Well all I can do is be patient and watch. If something bad happens I'll just bring it to the store and have them explain it. If it ends up being ok, then bonus!! Everything I have gotten from them though has been wonderful and beautiful...no problems. They have a really cool shark display right in the middle of their store......hammer heads and black tip reefs. Pretty cool to go and watch. They are for sale too, should I buy one? hahahaha JUUUUUUUUUUUUST kidding ;-)

Money is no object to me.....I told them to give me whatever was the best. They have a TON of lighting in there....of course....I wasn't about to buy the ones I have to hang from my wall.....that will be my NEXT project. Right now I'm trying to master this hobby. Thanks for everyones help though, its always good to get opinions from the "experts"
