Where do you buy your fish and corals??
if its a LFS please go and find a new one...they should have told you never to mix corals and puffers!!! that never works out corals are a puffers primary diet in the wild! Goood luck bud.

i bought a puffer once.. it was quite possibly the worst decision I have ever made in my swf experience. He bit his way THROUGH the bag on the way home from the LFS.. so watre was spilling and I was trying to keep him wet until I got home. I put him in the tank and he spent the first 15 min biting each, and every one of my corals. I swooped him out and returned him.
Puffers love to bite corals.. and bags... anything really!
Good Luck

I would agree, your Puffers are more than likely the guilty party involved here. I love Dogface puffers, but I love my reef tank more... althougth maybe when I get my 18o this summer I can make the 75 an agressive tank... would a 75 be big enough??

Puffers dont need an excessivly large tank for the majority of thier lives most puffers do not get that big if you feed them right (not too much) but enough to make sure they are satisfied so they will not pick on other fish.
The porcupine puffer for me has always been a happy and not too aggressive fish, but will still eat corals. While the Dogface is very aggresive and is known and has for me attacked alot of other fish. they should all be fine in your 75.
If I were you I would switch your plans and make your 75 a reef tank and make the 180 a FOWLR tank. you could do alot of beautiful aggressive fish maybe even a small sting ray.

Isnt a 180 to small for a sting ray? Just based on things that I have heard other people say. I have never had a string ray before, only a bamboo shark. He was my aquatic dog as I call him, but defintly alot of fun at feeding time.

Some People will tell you it is way too small, but they are generalizing...a "Round" stingray will be fine in anything 125 or bigger for atleast 5 years and they will be happy in that size tank, but alot of the others blue spot etc... are not ok in under 250 gallon. call someone with a degree in marine biology not someone who just heard from someone else. I have a sting ray in my 135 and he is very active and very happy
