could i treat my whole tank for ich? it's a 29g with one 3 stripe damsel (infected) and a falco hawk fish and 5 hermit crabs 3 of which are very very small. if i could just treat my whole tank whats the best way to do it?

You can use hyposalinity in the tank, as long as you remove the hermits and any live rock. Do you have LR?

ihave a copperband butterfly with ich and was told that freshwater dip would work but how long and how many times should i do this ??

A freshwater dip is a terrible way to treat ich. The best way to treat ich is to put it through hypo-salinity. The instructions on how to do this are detailed by Beth in the FAQ thread at the top.
