Could this be a feather duster?

I was searching around in my refuseum, looking for pods to feed to my scooter blennie. I saw what first appeared to be a root that attached itself to the walls of the refuseum. When I went to move it, I noticed that it had a crown like a feather duster and it pulled it inside its tube. It is about an inch and a half long and maybe a thirty second thick. Could this be a feather duster that came in with my algae? It is attached to the side wall of my refuseum. I have a few small pieces of Live rock in there but they are just rubble rock. Small pieces that broke off during shipment.

Yes Im more than certan its a feather duster. it should gorw about 1/4 inch at the crown and youll also notice more of them growing in later on. Ive got hundreds of them growing behind my LR along the base.

Would it hurt if I removed it from my refuseum and placed it in my main tank?

No not as long as you do it carefully. Think of it as a snail... with feathers.
