couple questions

Ive got my tank pretty well set up, my parameters have been really low for a good time now, Ive got a emerald crab, and about 5 hermits, and a couple snails that hang around under the sand or on the glass and 3 damsels (that Ill get rid of soon and get some nicer fish), the problem is the Ive got some brown algae on the sand that I cant get rid of, the inverts I have dont go near it, they are all over the LR algae what can I get to go after the sand algae? next- I am told from all different sources that LR will need some type of lighting others say I dont need special lighting. My LR has a good amout of purple but it looks like its fading, is that because its not getting the proper lighting, I do add some Calcium everyday and keep those numbers up so whats that all about. what kind of light do you have. what size tank and how mant crabs and snails do you have?

55 gallon corner, light that came with the tank, just reg flour.

When you say your levels are low what exactly are they? Am, Ni, Na, Ph, Alk, Cal, Mag, Sal, Temp. Y?our doseing with calcium but It does not look like you have much consumption. What lighting do you have?

sounds like your clean up crew just isint big enough. And I am not shure but you may wont to upgrade that light. are you planning on corals?

not right now, probably sometime in a year or so, anenome probably a little sooner, would that help the purple coraline??

I cant think of anything that needs more light than anenome. As far as the lr what kind do you have gulf, figi, ect

The anemone will need strong lighting(MH) and I would wait for 6 months or so till the tank is established. As far as the brown algea it will subside, until then lightly suck it out with a vaccum before a water change.

some figi loses color after the shipment. most of the coraline will grow back in 1 to 2 months

how do I vacuum it out of the sand, wont I loose a lot of sand with it, Yeah i didnt know the anenome needed that much light, I was under the impression it didnt , guess my plans are now changed.

You will loose very little if you just catch the top. Don't try to suck up the sand.

the light can wait but if your gonna upgrad I would rec doing it sooner than later. It will help your rock
